Our scoops are about 1 cubic yard (27 cubic feet), so the resulting number of cubic yards will be a good approximation of how many scoops you will need.

If you have a circular bed, you’ll need to measure the radius, or the distance from the edge to the center of the circle. The area will be the radius times itself, multiplied by 3.14. Enter the area in the length field, and “1” in the width field to get your estimate.

Typically, you can round down the number of cubic yards, as your plants will take up some of the space in the bed.
