Aerating the soil is an important step in creating a lush, healthy lawn. Also called plugging, because it pulls out small plugs of soil, this relieves the compaction that our clay soil tends to have here in the Piedmont.
In the fall or spring, a day or so before rain is expected, plug your yard, then put out grass seed and a starter fertilizer such as 18-24-12.
We rent both a walk-behind plugger and a pull-behind plugger that attaches to a garden tractor. Call to reserve.
$75/full day
$55/half day (morning or afternoon)
$40/deposit, to be refunded if plugger is returned clean and full of gas.
